Delhi CM Office Alleges Crime Branch ‘Not Ready To Give Receiving’ Of Notice Over Poaching Allegations Against BJP

A team from the Delhi Police Crime Branch arrived at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence on Saturday morning to serve him a notice regarding an ongoing investigation into his claim of the BJP attempting to buy AAP MLAs, an official confirmed.

Led by an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), the team reached the chief minister’s official residence situated in the Civil Lines area of north Delhi.

Previously, on Friday evening, Crime Branch teams had visited the residences of both Kejriwal and Delhi Minister Atishi. However, sources revealed that the notices could not be served as officials at Kejriwal’s residence declined to accept it, while Atishi was not present at her residence.

Sources from the Chief Minister’s Office stated their readiness to accept the crime branch notice and provide acknowledgment. However, they accused the police of not serving the notice directly and bringing along media representatives, alleging the visit aimed to defame them.

Meanwhile, sources within the crime branch expressed the intention to deliver the notice personally to the Chief Minister.

This development follows the crime branch team’s visit to Kejriwal and cabinet minister Atishi’s residences on Friday, where they attempted to serve notices regarding the same matter. However, both leaders declined to accept the notices.

Last week, the AAP accused the BJP of offering Rs 25 crore to seven of its MLAs to defect from the party and threatening to topple the Kejriwal government.

At a press conference, Atishi labeled the BJP’s actions as “Operation Lotus 2.0,” alleging similar attempts in the past. In response, a Delhi BJP delegation led by Sachdeva met the city police chief, urging a probe into Kejriwal’s claims.

Following the meeting with Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva highlighted that the AAP failed to provide evidence to substantiate their allegations, deeming them baseless.
