Delhi Govt Forms Child Safety Monitoring Committee To Enhance School Security
By creating a special Child Safety Monitoring Committee, the Delhi government has made a major contribution to ensuring the security of students in schools.
The committee has been assigned the responsibility of supervising compliance with the “Minimum Standards of School Safety,” which comprises an extensive checklist for assessing school safety protocols.
“In pursuance of a Delhi High Court order, a Child Safety Monitoring Committee has been constituted to monitor the implementation of minimum standards of school safety. In view of this, the heads of all schools in Delhi are hereby directed to fill out the checklist and keep it ready to facilitate the visiting inspection team,” the circular from the Directorate of Education said, as reported by news agency PTI.
In order to streamline this procedure, all Delhi school administrators have received instructions to complete the safety checklist and keep it ready for the assigned teams to inspect.
Moreover, deputy directors of education (districts) have received detailed instructions to ensure the presence of their respective DDE (Zone) officials during school inspections within their jurisdictions.
A circular from the Directorate of Education highlights the Delhi government’s commitment to addressing school safety concerns, especially in compliance with judicial directives.
Through the establishment of a specialised monitoring committee and the active engagement of education officials at different tiers, the government is proactively taking steps to ensure a secure learning environment for all students in the city.
