Eggs are one of the best sources of protein for people and have become the staple food for everyday breakfast food. While we all know that the white part of the eggs and its yolk has numerous health benefits still there are concerns related to which one is a healthier option for us.

Eggs are a packed source of nutrients and proteins. It contains nutrients such as iron, phosphorus, vitamin D, vitamin B12, selenium, choline and amino acids. Hence there is no question how healthy eggs are. But whether egg white or egg yolk is beneficial for your health remains a query.

In conversation with News9, Dr Suparna Mukherjee, Charge, of Clinical Nutrition, Narayana Health City, Bangalore said, “While egg whites are prized for their protein content, it’s essential to recognise the nutritional value of egg yolks. They provide vital nutrients like vitamins A, D, E, and B-complex, as well as healthy fats.

Both components complement each other, offering a well-rounded nutritional profile. Rather than fixating on one part of the egg, balanced consumption of both egg whites and yolks is encouraged. Moderation is key, especially for individuals with specific health concerns like cholesterol levels.
