Ford Shifts Focus to Hybrid Models, Postpones Launch of New Battery-Powered Vehicles
Amidst a time when top car manufacturers are converting their existing vehicles to EVs or launching new ones, leading car maker Ford has decided to take a different path and shifted its primary focus to hybrid cars. Teambhp said the company has slowed down production of battery-powered SUVs and pickup trucks so far and started investing more in hybrid options.

The report also suggests that the company aims to increase the overall hybrid range by 2030 and offer customers more options to choose from. During this time, the company will also continue to invest in the EV segment. However, due to the above reason, the production of some series has been postponed.
The EV product line was pushed forward
Production of the next-gen electric pickup (codenamed T3), which was due in 2025, has also been pushed to 2026. The brand is yet to share the exact release date and related details. Meanwhile, Ford is considered one of the top contributors in the EV segment. The company achieved the second-highest rank in sales during the first quarter of this year. However, overall, it ranked third when it comes to manufacturing new EVs in the comparable segment.

Ford CEO Jim Farley said in the US that the company has maintained the number two spot for the past two years and is committed to growing the business by bringing the right hybrid, gas and fully electric vehicles at the right time.
