Former Andhra Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy Arrested in Attempt to Murder Case
Hyderabad: In a significant development, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and two senior IPS officers among five people were booked in an attempt to murder case after a complaint was filed by a TDP MLA. Former CID chief PV Sunil Kumar and former Intelligence chief PSR Anjaneyulu are the two IPS officers who have also been booked in the case.
In the complaint, Undi MLA K Raghurama Krishna Raju said that he was arrested in 2021 by the CID in Hyderabad and accused Jagan Mohan Reddy and other officials of “plotting” a criminal “conspiracy” against him.
Raju, who was earlier with the YSR Congress Party, alleged in the complaint that after his arrest he was not produced before the local magistrate. He further claimed that the CID did not have a transit arrest warrant, and he was shifted to the agency’s office in Guntur.
“On May 14, 2021, I was arrested without due process, I was bullied, unlawfully physically pulled inside the police vehicle, and forcibly taken to Guntur the same night,” Raju alleged in the complaint.
Raju added that PV Sunil Kumar, PSR Anjaneyulu and other police officers thrashed him with belts and sticks, and he wasn’t even allowed to take his heart ailment medicines. Raju claimed the officers knew he had undergone bypass heart surgery.
