Google Pixel 8a set for a price increase
The Google Pixel 7a was one of our favourite smartphones of 2023. Even though Pixel’s ‘a’ series devices tend to be the brand’s entry-level offering, last year’s Pixel 7a had some enhancements over the Pixel 7 that released in the last quarter of 2022. We’re probably just two months away from the launch of the Google Pixel 8a.
The 2024 Pixel a device is likely to debut at the Google I/O that might take place in May 2024. We’ve already seen rumours and leaks emerge about this device including the latest report in German tech news platform WinFuture.

Four colours: We’re fans of the Google Pixel colour palette. This year, the Pixel 8a could be made available in a choice of colour ways – obsidian (black), porcelain (beige), bay (light blue), and mint (light green).
New storage option: The Google Pixel 7a was only available in a 128GB option. That could change with the 8a. We could see a 256GB storage variant according to retail data that WinFuture has gleaned. It’s likely to feature 8GB of RAM and be powered by the latest Google Tensor 3 chip that is at the heart of the Google Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro.
Price revision: Rumours from German retailers suggest that the Pixel 8a could see a 10% price premium over its predecessor. The Pixel 8a is likely to start at €550 or higher. The Pixel 7a was launched under Rs 45,000 at €499
