Basant Panchami, also known as Vasant Panchami, Shri Panchami or Saraswati Puja, is a famous festival dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, wisdom, art and learning.

Food offerings such as khichdi, gur chawal and boondi are kept and items for puja, such as sindoor or vermillion, sandalwood paste, flowers, rice and water are also offered to the Goddess.
