Heartbreak in Indore: Man betrayed after gender change promise by social media acquaintance
A 28-year-old man from Madhya Pradesh’s Indore, underwent a gender change at the request of a man he met on social media, only to face betrayal afterwards.
The accused, identified as Vaibhav Shukla from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, made false promises of marriage to the victim, leading to a harrowing ordeal of the victim.
The victim, who trusted Shukla’s commitment to marry him post-surgery, shared his anguish, stating, “I trusted Vaibhav Shukla and underwent gender reassignment surgery hoping for a future together. However, he not only broke his promise but also subjected me to unnatural acts.”
Left devastated and with no recourse, the victim sought help from the Vijay Nagar police, lodging a complaint against Shukla under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Expressing his distress over the financial and emotional toll of the situation, he urged authorities to take stringent action against the accused.
The acquaintance between the victim and Shukla began on Instagram nearly three years ago, evolving into a relationship where Shukla coerced the victim into undergoing the gender change under false pretences of marriage. The accused engaged in unnatural activities with the victim and later resorted to threats when confronted.
