Hidden Camera Found In Girls’ Washroom At Andhra College, Protest Erupt As Over 300 Videos Leaked
Massive protests erupted at the SR Gudlavalleru Engineering College in Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna district on Thursday after a hidden camera was found inside the washroom of a girls’ hostel. According to reports, the camera had been secretly recording videos of the students, which were later leaked and sold to some students. The discovery led to a chaotic scene as students organised a protest that began around 7 pm and continued till today morning. Scores of female students gathered at the hostel, chanting “we want justice” slogans and urging the authorities to take swift action against the perpetrator. The protesters emphasized the need for enhanced security measures to ensure their safety on campus.
The police have arrested a senior student from the boys’ hostel, identified as Vijay Kumar, a final year BTech student. Vijay’s laptop, believed to contain incriminating evidence, has been seized, and investigations are currently underway to uncover the full extent of the breach of privacy.
Reports indicate that over 300 photos and videos from the women’s hostel washroom were leaked, with some students reportedly purchasing these recordings from the accused student.
However, Gudlavalleru Sub-Inspector Satyanarayana, while talking to news agency ANI said that no hidden camera have been found on tne premise so far but the investigations are on. “No hidden cameras have been found on the premises so far, but the investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.”

Earlier this month, customers at a famous coffee shop in Bengaluru had discovered a phone hidden in the women’s washroom dustbin to record videos. The incident was brought to light by a content creator who said found the camera in the bag which had a hole in it and was constantly recording a video.
