Honor announces free screen replacement program for its unbreakable X9b phone ahead of Feb 15 launch
HTech, the Madhav Sheth led VC behind Honor in India, has announced ‘Honor Protect’, a mobile protection plan to complement its Honor X9b smartphone ahead of launch on February 15.
The plan launched in partnership with device-care provider OnsiteGo bundles services worth Rs 2,999 including a one-time screen replacement within 6 months along with a 30-day assured buy back option up to 90 percent, completely free of charge.
Consumers can avail a one-time free of cost screen replacement for ‘primary screens’ within six months of purchase of the Honor X9b through Honor Protect. HTech is promising guaranteed approvals along with free doorstep pickup and deliveries for repairs from ‘brand authorised service centres.’ It will also provide consumers the opportunity to receive 90 percent of the invoice value on resale with deductions where valid (Rs 1,500 for missing original accessories, 20 percent for major scratches or dents, 15 percent for minor scratches or dents, and Rs 10,00 for the absence of the retail box).
Honor X90b consumers will also be eligible for 6 months extended warranty and door-to-door service assistance for 18 months under Honor Protect.
Ever since Honor started teasing the X9b, social media has been up at arms against its marketing shenanigans. The point of consideration is the company’s claim that the phone’s ‘ultra-bounce display’ is apparently so strong and durable, you might not even need to apply a tempered glass on it, ever. People have been genuinely suggesting, what if it actually breaks and if Honor has a plan B should that happen.
