How many steps should you walk to live 100 years?
Walking only 4000 steps in a day is said to reduce the risk of heart disease and early death significantly, a new study has recently discovered
Furthermore, increasing the same count to the classic 10000 steps can further slash the chances of early death by 39% as opposed to people who are couch potatoes.
This was discovered by Australian researchers who said that the findings could lead to the development of guidelines for people who spent most of their time sitting – either due to a desk job due to sedentary lifestyle choices or simply due to laziness.
Researchers at the University of Sydney said that the minimal dose of daily steps should be 4000 to 4500 steps in a day in sedentary lifestyle groups. Anything more than 2200 steps were associated with a lower risk of heart disease and early death.
Heart diseases – be it coronary artery disease or peripheral artery disease, hypertension, or high cholesterol – are said to be the deadliest group of diseases in the world contributing to the highest number of deaths globally every year.
