Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 Prototype Teased Ahead Of Official Launch Later In March

Husqvarna has offered a sneak peek into the upcoming Svartpilen 801 prototype set to debut internationally on March 19th. While the production model remains under wraps, the two-wheeler maker has announced a teaser of the bike revealing new details.

Drawing inspiration from its predecessor, the Svartpilen 801 prototype mirrors the design elements of the recently launched Svartpilen 401, boasting a distinctive round LED headlight accented by an LED DRL ring. Noteworthy elements include a sleek grille, alongside a single-piece tubular handlebar, protective bash plate, and an elegantly upswept exhaust.

Sharing a lineage with KTM under the Pierer Mobility umbrella, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 inherits the same tubular chassis, adjustable USD front forks, and monoshock as the 790 Duke, currently available in international markets.

However, subtle differences emerge, notably in the rear subframe design of the new Husqvarna twin. Platform sharing extends to the powertrain, with the Svartpilen 801 utilizing the 790 Duke’s twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, though output is marginally boosted to 103.6bhp. Paired with a six-speed gearbox, the engine is set to benefit from a bi-directional quick-shifter, enhancing the riding experience.

Expect a suite of advanced electronic aids, including ride modes, traction control, ABS modes with a supermoto setting, and a cutting-edge TFT display with smartphone connectivity, with the possibility of cruise control as well.
