If you are studying from CBSE board then this news is useful for you. According to the information, credit system is going to be implemented in classes 6th, 9th and 11th from this session itself.

Now studies will be done in CBSE schools through credit system under the National Credit Framework. The Central Board of Secondary Education has made preparations to implement this system as a pilot project in classes 6, 9 and 11 from the academic session 2024-25. Under this system, after studying 210 hours for the whole year in 9th class, students will get 40-54 credit numbers. This credit will be given only after passing the examination in all subjects. For this, 75 percent attendance in a class will be mandatory throughout the year.

Invitation to all schools

CBSE has invited all schools to become part of this system. In this regard, the board has given information about guidelines to all the schools affiliated with CBSE. The Board has planned a pilot project of these guidelines in classes 6, 9 and 11 to test and evaluate its effectiveness. CBSE will organize awareness sessions, and advice programs to ensure successful testing. Along with this, guidance will be given to the schools participating in the pilot program.

Please be informed that the credits received by the student will continue to be added to the Academic Bank of Credit. According to the proposed credit for 9th, the student has to pass 5 subjects. It will include 2 languages and 3 subjects. Students will get credit only after passing these.

210 hours for every subject’

Let us tell you that 210 hours will be given for each subject. Similarly, 1050 hours will be given for 5 compulsory subjects. 150 hours will be for Internal Assessment, Physical Education, Art Education and Work Experience. 7 credits should be given for each subject. Students will be given 40 credits on passing 5 subjects in 9th. If the student also takes 6th and 7th subject then his credits will increase to 47-54.

If you pass one language and 4 subjects in class 11th, you will be eligible to get 40 credits. 210 hours will be given for each subject. Like class 9th, there will be 150 hours for internal assessment, physical education, work experience and general study. If a student takes 6 subjects he will be eligible to get 47 credits.
