India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2024 Match Tickets Over-Subscribed By 200 Times

As the T20 World Cup 2024 draws near, there is anticipation for that one big game. More so because arch-rivals India and Pakistan don’t play bilateral cricket owing to the tensed political relationship between the two countries implying only International Cricket Council (ICC) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) events being the only stage where they get to meet.

India vs Pakistan, quite often termed as the mother of all cricketing clashes, will be played in New York this year.

However, the organisers are already facing a massive demand as the countdown to the marquee event begins with less than 100 days to go for the first match. As expected, the demand for the IND vs PAK T20 World Cup fixture is facing sky-rocketing demands with 200 times more people wanting tickets than will be made available, as per an ICC statement That essentially means that even though the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on Long Island which will be able to accomodate 34,000 people is not finished, tickets are already sold out for the fixture slated to be played on June 9.

Notably, this is the first time that an ICC event will be played in US which is co-hosting the tourmament with West Indies. The tournament will comprise of 20 teams which will make it the biggest tournament ever. Previously, 16 teams had participated in the 2022 edition of the competition.

The 20 sides in the tournament have been divided into four groups of five sides each. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Eight stage where the teams will be divided into two groups again with A1, B2, C1 and D2 in one group and A2, B1, C2 and D1 in the other. The top two sides from each of these groups in the Super Eight stage will play the semis.
