iOS 18 Reportedly in Works; Redesigned UI Elements and Timeline Tipped
Apple is reportedly working on redesigning iOS and macOS. The tech giant is expected to release iOS 18 with a new visual redesign this summer.
However, the work on macOS has recently been started. So it is expected to be ready by 2025 or 2026. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman (via 9to5Mac), Apple will bring iOS 18 with new AI features.
Apple might also make changes to UI elements on iOS. iOS 18 will be available for select iPhones that run iOS 17. Earlier this month, another report suggested that Apple is working on bringing several UI components from the visionOS operating system of the Vision Pro glasses into the iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 updates.
Apart from artificial intelligence, iOS 18 operating system is expected to get a facelift in everything related to the user interface. The next-generation operating system iOS 18 is likely to be announced this coming June as part of the annual developer event WWDC 2024.
The iPhone 16 series might come with the iOS 18 operating system. The next-gen iPhone 16 series is said to include – the iPhone 16 SE, iPhone 16 Plus SE, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max models. The leaked images of the iPhone 16 series surfaced online, showing the possible rear design of the upcoming iPhones.
The upcoming phones are tipped to feature a vertical camera layout. Both the iPhone 16 SE and the iPhone 16 Plus SE are expected to get a single pill-shaped rear camera layout.
The standard iPhone 16 was seen with a dual rear camera unit. While the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max were spotted with triple rear camera setups.
The Pro models of the iPhone 16 series are rumoured to feature the A18 Pro Bionic chip, while the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Plus models are expected to run the A17 Pro processor. As far as launch is concerned, Apple could follow its traditional launch timeline for the next-gen iPhone 16 series, which is September.
