iPhone 16 Design Leaks Giving iPhone X Vibe: All We Know So Far
Apple has been using the the diagonal rear camera design on base models, since 2021 with the launch of iPhone 13, ditching the vertical camera layout last used by Apple on the iPhone 12. Since then, we have seen iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 vanilla models adopting the same style.
However, several leaks following the launch of the iPhone 15 series hinted that the iPhone 16 models could reintroduce the vertical camera layout. Now, the latest prototypes being tested for the non-Pro iPhone 16 models show two rear lenses in a vertical style inside a pill-shaped camera bump, similar the iPhone X series launched in 2017.
According to a report from MacRumors, The pill-shaped camera bump features two separate camera rings for the Wide and Ultrawide cameras, adopting some of the stylistic cues from earlier prototype designs.
. “A vertical camera arrangement has remained consistent throughout the prototyping process, and Apple has not changed the position of the flash or the camera lenses with this latest update,” the report said.
The findings from MacRumors also align with schematics recently shared by leakster Majin Bu on the social media website X. Bu’s leaked images also feature the same updated design. As per Bu, the upcoming iPhone 16 base models will be a combination of the iPhone X and iPhone 11’s design, but with a couple of different variations.
