IPL 2024: Jake Fraser-McGurk Joins Rare Club with Explosive Performance against Mumbai Indians
Jack Fraser-McGurk equaled his record for the fastest fifty in a season with a 15-ball fifty during the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (DC), the third fastest overall. MI) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday.
In fact, Fraser-McGurk became only the third batsman in the history of T20 cricket to reach a fifty in 15 balls or less which is also twice in T20 cricket. Fraser-McGurk then dismissed MI’s bowling linchpin Jasprit Bumrah with a six and a four before finishing with another four. Bumrah conceded 19 runs in his first over. Nuwan Tushara had the same fate as JFM connected with practically every ball and picked Sri Lanka apart with three fours in the over. Fraser-McGurk’s new opening partner Abhishek Porel was a mere spectator to the run-scoring proceedings off just one ball. By the third over, DC had crossed the 50-run mark and Fraser-McGurk completed his fifty in just 15 balls, equaling his own record for the fastest fifty this season.
The introduction of spin meant the delivery moved further as Piyush Chawla was taken for a six and a four.
