Mumbai got their first victory under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya. The five-time IPL champions beat Delhi Capitals (DC) by 29 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday. Romario Shepherd was named player of the match for his impressive performance. Romario Shepherd came to the crease after the dismissal of Hardik Pandya in the 18th over. Shepherd shared an unbeaten 53 off just 13 balls for the sixth wicket. He remained unbeaten on 39 off 10 balls, including three boundaries and four maximums.

Shepherd showed aggressive batting in the last over against Enrique Nortje and scored 32 runs. He started with a boundary down the ground and hit a six off the next three balls. He followed up with a boundary on the fifth ball and easily dispatched the last ball for another six.

In a video shared by MI on X, head coach Mark Boucher announced the award to Jasprit Bumrah for his impressive bowling performance. Jasprit Bumrah, receiving a standing ovation from his teammates, said he does not want to bowl against Romario Shepherd when he is in form.

“Yes, it was really good to win, a great atmosphere too. We boys were a bit fresher after the break we had. So I’m really happy and special mention to Romario (Shepherd). It was really fantastic. See. Others It’s good not to bowl against him at the end, but it was really good to see how he finished the game,” said Bumrah.

Jasprit Bumrah showcased his bowling prowess for Mumbai Indians, picking up two crucial wickets for just 22 runs in four overs. Bumrah claimed his 150th IPL wicket for the MI franchise, making him the first Indian bowler in history to reach this milestone for a team.
