IPL 2024: Kavya Maran’s Exuberance on Full Display as SRH Dominate CSK in IPL
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had a great day in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. They won their second game by defeating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 6 wickets in the 18th game of the league at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. of the season. SRH were on top with the bat in the game against CSK as they ensured they handed the opposition their second defeat of the season. Skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bat against the opposition. His decision paid off handsomely as his team performed brilliantly with the ball at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
SRH did not allow CSK’s batsmen to settle down at all as they took wickets at regular intervals. They started the game well as they removed Rachin Ravindra (12) early and miscued Ruturaj Gaikwad (26) after a brave start to the game with the bat. SRH came under some pressure when Shivam Dubey (45) and Ajinkya Rahane (35) joined the partnership. But the way they came back into the game, was nothing short of exceptional as they put a brake on the scoring rate and did not allow the opposition scores to run freely. Skipper Pat Cummins executed his plans brilliantly and did not let the batsmen end the innings. SRH conceded 50 runs in the last 7 overs and restricted CSK to a total below 165 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

What they started to chase was the icing on the cake for them. Abhishek Sharma (37) took the bowlers to the cleaners and gave his team much-needed momentum early on. Travis Head, who was dropped, made sure CSK paid as he played a crucial innings of 31 runs. Aidan Markram supported the openers very well and scored a half-century to take his team closer to the target. Things got a bit tight towards the end but Henrik Klaassen (10*) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (14*) held their nerve and took their team home with 6 wickets and their second game win of the season. As SRH won the game, franchise owner Kavya Maran was overjoyed. She was happy with the way her team performed and was seen clapping for her team’s performance.
