IPL 2024: Matheesha Pathirana Removes Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav in Consecutive Deliveries, Watch Video
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star bowler Matisha Pathirana struck twice and that too in the same over to send Mumbai Indians (MI) Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav back to their Indian Premier League (IPL) debut at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.
Matisha Pathirana got the wicket of Ishan Kishan on the first ball of the eight over. Pathirana bowled him a full ball over middle stump as Ishan tried to flick the ball but it hit airborne and straight to mid-wicket where Shardul Thakur took a sharp catch. In fact, Ishaan Kishan got the only fielder inside the ring and had to walk back.
Then on the third ball of the same over, Matisha Pathirana dismissed Suryakumar Yadav. Suryakumar deliberately opened the face of the bat to play third man when Pathirana hit him short outside off. Mustafizur Rahman was good enough but had a lot of work to do. He took a few steps back and with the boundary ropes right behind him, the Bangladesh pacer managed to juggle the ball and complete the catch.
