IPL 2024: Rashid Khan’s Epic Celebration Goes Viral After Rajasthan Royals’ Dramatic Win
Gujarat Titans’ star all-rounder Rashid Khan managed to stay calm under pressure in a last-ball thriller against Rajasthan Royals to take his side to the line and hand the table-toppers their first defeat of the season. The Afghanistan international managed to score the winning run to give GT a surprise win against the odds.
Scoring the winning runs for GT, Rashid looked down at his teammates, pointed to the ground, stamped his authority and showed that he can be a force to be reckoned with as a bowler and a batsman. Non-striker, Noor Ahmed and his teammates from the bench came out for a hero’s hug and hugged the Afghanistan skipper for leading the team to a thrilling win.
Coming in to bat in the 18th over, Rashid was under pressure from the start as GT needed 40 off 15 balls left in the innings. But the duo of Rashid and former RR member, Rahul Tewatia managed to build momentum by attacking in the final over bowled by Kuldeep Sen. Sen started his game brilliantly with some crucial wickets. He dismissed the in-form Sai Sudarshan in the first over of his quota. After this in the 11th over of the innings, both Matthew Wade and Abhinav Manohar took a double hit to get rid. But he was not able to contain the pressure as he stumbled in the death overs conceding 20 runs in the 19th over and swung the tide in GT’s favour. Tewatia hit two boundaries while Rashid hit a boundary for four more runs. Coupled with this extra, 20 runs were conceded in the second to last over.

Not done for GT yet as they still needed 15 off the last six deliveries. Avesh Khan has been Royals’ go-to man for the death overs and this time he was not getting his length ride as he delivered a full-toss which was flicked towards the backward square-leg boundary for four. off Despite getting his yorker right off the next ball, Rashid who was deep in his crease managed to squeeze it towards long-on for two more. But the pressure was on for the Royals as Rashid edged past the keeper for four more runs. With two runs needed off the final ball, Avesh made the big mistake of bowling a length delivery which was then slapped towards the point region for a boundary and ensured the win for the Titans.
