Former South African batsman Harshal Gibbs hurled a sly jab at SRH’s Travis Head after the team failed to chase down 207 runs against RCB at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. SRH failed to bat, losing 6 wickets in the first 10 overs of the match. Devastating openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma were dismissed inside the powerplay, leaving SRH in trouble.

This was SRH’s first defeat in the last 5 matches. In their previous match against DC, SRH scored 266 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. After the match, SRH opener Head and Sharma joked that next time, they want to see a ‘3’ at the start of the score – indicating that they want to target a total of 300 runs. However, it became difficult on the slow Hyderabad track, where the batsmen found it difficult to play their shots.

This prompted Gibbs to take aim at Travis Head, saying that chasing 207 on a slow track was as impressive as scoring 300 in the first innings.

“I know Travis Head said he wanted 300 but chasing 207 on a slow wicket would have been just as smart,” Gibbs said on Twitter after the SRH vs RCB match.

Despite the defeat, SRH remain firm at the third position in the league table. On the other hand, RCB are at the bottom of the table with 4 points from 9 matches. RCB can still make a comeback in the tournament if they win all their matches. RCB have a chance to finish with 14 points, which could help them qualify for the playoffs, if other results go in their favour.
