Jasprit Bumrah Shares ‘Living A Dream’ Video Recalling India’s T20 World Cup 2024 Triumph – WATCH
New Delh: India’s premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah expressed joy and described his past few days as “living a dream”, and is deeply grateful for the incredible reception he and his teammates received after their triumphant T20 World Cup win in the Caribbean. The 30-year-old, who claimed 15 wickets in the mega-event that concluded on June 29 in Barbados, played a pivotal role in India’s historic second T20 World Cup title-winning campaign, thus ending the country’s 17-year drought for a World Cup in the format.
“I am so thankful for the last few days. I’ve been living a dream and it has filled me with happiness and gratitude,” Bumrah posted on X. He also posted a video of himself enjoying the rapturous homecoming that included a breakfast meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and a victory parade attended by lakhs of fans in Mumbai.

The 42-second clip also featured the audio of Virat Kohli’s speech during the felicitation event organised by the BCCI at the Wankhede Stadium, after the victory parade last Thursday where the former India captain lauded Bumrah’s contribution. Bumrah partnered all-rounder Hardik Pandya in the final to turn the final game against South Africa in India’s favour in the last five overs.
The duo returned for their second spell when South Africa required 30 runs from 30 balls. Their devastating bowling performance ensured the Proteas fell short by seven runs in the end. Kohli had called Bumrah a “once in a generation” player during the speech at the Wankhede Stadium, prompting the assembled crowd to chant the bowler’s name in appreciation.
“What I would like everyone to do is to applaud a guy who brought us back into games again, and again, and again. It was phenomenal. He is a once in a generation bowler. I am so glad he plays for us,” Kohli, who retired from T20 Internationals at the end of the World Cup, had said.
Upon his recent arrival at his Ahmedabad home, Bumrah was greeted with a shower of flower petals, marking a heartfelt welcome for the cricket star.
