JEE Advanced 2024 Ranking System: It is necessary to pass the JEE Advanced exam for admission to IIT, NIT, IT, and other top engineering institutes. The JEE Advanced exam was held on 26 May 2024. Every year more than 2.5 lakh students appear for the JEE Advanced exam. In such a situation, many times many students get the same marks in the same subject. This is a very common chance. In such a situation, how will it be decided whose rank will be high and whose will be low? For this, the organizing committee resorts to a tie-breaking policy. The rank of 2 or more students securing the same marks is prepared under the tie-breaking policy.
JEE Advanced Tie-Breaking Policy: What is the tie-breaking policy in JEE Advanced 2024?

Step 1- Candidates securing higher positive marks are given higher ranks. If the rank is not being prepared according to the tie-breaking policy in the first step itself, then step 2 is resorted to.
Step 2- The one securing more marks in Maths subject will be given a higher rank. If despite this the tie is not able to break, then the one securing more marks in Physics will get a higher rank. If despite this the tie is not able to break, then the candidates will be assigned the same rank.
