JNU PhD Admission 2025: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has started the application process for admission to PhD programs for the academic year 2024-25. Admission to doctoral programs will be done through NET (UGC-CSIR), JRF or GATE. Candidates can submit their application forms through online mode at jnu.ac.in. Let us inform you that the last date to apply for this is 2 December. After the completion of the application process, candidates will be allowed to change their details of the online application between 3 and 4 December. The process can be completed online through the official website jnu.ac.in.

Who is eligible?

Candidates having a master’s degree as well as relevant NET/JRF/GATE scores. Candidates having only the academic qualifications but not having qualified NET/JRF/GATE in relevant subjects or vice versa, will not be eligible for admission.

How to apply through UGC/CSIR/GATE scores?

Candidates have to apply only in online mode with their UGC/CSIR NET percentage/GATE scores. Candidates seeking admission through JRF have to apply separately under the JRF category. However, JRF-qualified candidates can also apply separately in online mode for admission under the NET category. No offline applications will be considered. Candidates with GATE scores are only eligible for admission to PhD programmes in the School of Engineering.

CERTIFICATES AND DOCUMENTS REQUIRED AT THE TIME OF VIVA

Certificates from two persons, one of whom should be a former teacher of the candidate

Full list of subjects/papers taken by the candidate for the certificates/degrees mentioned in Sr. No. 2

Copy of at least one of the candidate’s published papers, if any, which he considers most representative of his intellectual interests and aptitude.

A short note (one copy) mentioning the candidate’s area of ​​special interest in research, if any, and his future professional goals, and such other additional information as may help in his selection to the programme of study.

The candidate is required to submit a research proposal at the time of viva.

Self-attested printout of NET (UGC/CSIR/GATE) score card.

Self-attested valid JRF certificate for PhD admission under JRF category: JRF certificate within the validity of the dates of fellowship mentioned in the JRF certificate.

Foreign national candidates are required to submit a Statement of Purpose (SoP) for the PhD programme.
