When asked by the audience to share her thoughts on marriage, she said, “Kya kahu main ab iss bare mein? Dekhiye, meri shadi ko leke bohot ache khyal hai… mujhe lagta hai ki har ek ko companion ki zaroorat hoti hai. Mujhe lagta hai bache hone chahiye, lekin ab logo ne itna badnam kar rakha hai, meri shaadi nahi hone dete hai” (Now, what do I say about this? My views on marriage are very positive. I feel everyone should have a companion. I feel people should have children too, but I have been made so infamous that I am unable to marry).
She added, “Mere court cases itne aa jate hai jab bhi kisi ke saath meri baat banni shuru hoti hai, toh police ghar pe aa jati hai, utha ke le jati hai, summons aa jate hai. Ek baar toh hone wale saas-sasur bhi mere ghar pe the aur woh summon aa gaye, toh phir woh bhag gaye. Ye bhi ek side effect hai.” (I have so many court cases against me that whenever I start getting close to someone, the police land at my home or I get a summons. Once, my to-be in-laws were at my house, and when the summons arrived, they fled. This is also a side effect of what I face). However, she later clarified that it was just a joke.
About Emergency
Kangana Ranaut’s film Emergency delves into the events during the time of former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, who imposed a 21-month Emergency period from 1975 to 1977. The movie was initially scheduled to hit the big screens on September 6, 2024. However, due to backlash from Sikh groups and the need for approval from the Central Board of Film Certification, the release date of the film has been postponed.
