Kangana Ranaut on ‘Emergency’: ‘After watching it, nobody will want me as PM’
Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut recently made light of her possibility of ever becoming the Prime Minister of India.
At the trailer launch event of Telugu movie Razakar: The Silent Genocide of Hyderabad, the actor was asked if she ever thought of becoming the country’s PM. Kangana laughed and said in Hindi, “I just did a film called Emergency.
After watching that movie, nobody will want me as the Prime Minister,”
Emergency will see Kangana Ranaut portraying the former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, in the political drama. The film has been helmed by Ranaut herself.
Earlier last year, Kangana shared her sentiments about joining politics and said that she is not really a political person. “I am a sensitive person. I am not a political person. I was asked to join politics many times. I didn’t,” the actor shared on X (formerly Twitter).
Bankrolled by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, the official synopsis of Emergency reads, “Standing at the core of this is one of the most sensational leaders of all time, the first woman Prime Minister of India, Mrs Indira Gandhi.”
