Himachal Pradesh’s Revenue Minister and Congress representative, Jagat Singh Negi, recently criticized Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut for her late arrival to the flood-hit areas in their state. According to him, it seemed like Kangana was more anxious about her makeup wearing off in the rain, and people mixing her up with her mother rather than the actual crisis.
Simranjit Singh Mann, a prominent figure of the Shiromani Akali Dal and former Punjab MP, stirred up a storm with his contentious statement about actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut on August 29. His comments came in the wake of Ranaut’s mention of alleged rape incidents at the farmers’ protests.
Mann hinted that Ranaut was not just voicing her opinion, but may have personal understanding and experience of the circumstances surrounding rape. He underscored the dire need for awareness and education about how these heinous crimes happen. Meanwhile, he couched his worries about the government’s surveillance over advocates of freedom.
Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency Postponed
Kangana Ranaut made a public statement after her movie ‘Emergency’ had to be rescheduled. The change in plans comes on the words of the Bombay High Court stepping back, exemplifying the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s directions for the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to consider any objections before giving the green signal.
Initially, the film was all set to entertain audiences on September 6, but due to unforeseen circumstances, it’s facing a delay of 14 days delay. Now, all eyes are on September 18 for the anticipated CBFC certificate. Despite being informed about their certification status by August 29, Zee Studio, the collaborative producers, are still awaiting official paperwork from the CBFC.
