Karan Arjun vs Pushpa Re-Release: Both films fail at box-office, check who has earned more and by how much?
The trend of re-releases has taken over cinema in the past year. Several movies have already been re-released and have received a good response from the audience. Recently, on November 22, 2024, two major films were re-released. While the first was a cult classic, Karan Arjun, the other was the all-time favourite action thriller, Allu Arjun’s Pushpa. Both movies, during their original releases, performed exceptionally well on the big screen. Fans loved them and went gaga over their success.
With both films re-releasing on the same date and a week has passed, the box office collections for the week have finally been revealed. Interestingly, Karan Arjun, which features two iconic Bollywood stars—Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan—earned Rs 1 crore, whereas Pushpa, featuring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, earned Rs 70 lakh.
On the first day of its re-release, Karan Arjun earned Rs 30 lakh, while on day 2, its box office collection stood at Rs 40 lakh. On day 3, it collected another Rs 40 lakh. Coming to Allu Arjun’s Pushpa, the re-release box office collection on day 1 stood at Rs 20 lakh. On days 2 and 3, Pushpa earned Rs 25 lakh each day. Karan Arjun earned at least 57 per cent higher than Allu Arjun’s Pushpa.
Meanwhile, in terms of Karan Arjun’s prospects of earning more at the box office, the chances seem slim. One major reason for this is the ongoing re-release of Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic film Kal Ho Naa Ho, which is still performing well at the box office after being re-released on November 15, 2024.
Helmed by Nikhil Advani, Kal Ho Naa Ho earned Rs 2.40 crore in its first week. It remained the number one choice during the second weekend among re-released titles, grossing around Rs 1.30 crore. According to industry trackers, after 10 days, KHNH has grossed Rs 3.70 crore, making it one of Bollywood’s most successful re-releases.
