KBC 16: Banti Vadiva, Adivasi Contestant, Quits Rs 1 Crore Question on Bengali Sculptor Chintamoni Kar – Can You Answer the Toughest Question?

Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 16, saw two contestants who reached the Rs 1 crore mark but chose to withdraw one of which was Banti Vadiva. The latest episode hosted by Amitabh Bachchan featured an Adivasi contestant from a small town in Madhya Pradesh. The show was divided into two parts which saw Banti’s roller-coaster ride in the first half. He had already won Rs 25 lakh. The second half, which aired on September 5, featured a tricky question that determined whether Banti would become a crorepati.
KBC 16 contestant Banti Vadiva comes from a family of farmers who started working the land when they were young. Their farm grows a variety of crops like soybeans, wheat, and chana year-round. However, since they only harvest twice a year, they often take on extra work as labourers to make ends meet.
Participating in KBC was a life-changing experience for Banti, as he was the first from his area to do so. His journey to Mumbai, where he stood on one leg in a train compartment, felt like a spiritual challenge he has now overcome. Interestingly despite his TV appearance, Banti doesn’t own a television at home.

KBC 16 Contestant Banti Wants To Help His Family
Banti wrapped up his college education back in 2017. Year after year, he struggled to clear the first steps of the Madhya Pradesh PSC exam, forcing him to question his academic prowess. However, with the newfound attention he’s garnering, he now feels more confident about his wisdom and scholarly background. Banti looks forward to support his family after winning KBC. If Banti Vadiva answers the Rs 1 crore question, he will become the KBC 16’s first crorepati.
Banti said, “I came to Mumbai with just Rs 260 in my account and now, I have become a lakhpati, thanks to the show. With this money, I will pay off my father’s loan and show my village that dreams can come true, no matter how difficult the journey (sic).”

Here’s The Rs 1 crore question Banti was asked, “In 1948, which of these did the Bengali sculptor Chintamoni Kar win for an artwork titled ‘The Stag’?”
The options are:
A. Pythagoras Prize
B. Nobel Prize
C. Olympic medal
D. Oscar award
Answer: C. Olympic medal
Banti later decides to play it safe and exits the game, taking home a cheque for Rs 50 lakh to support his family and his town. Abhishek Bachchan also congratulated the KBC 16 contestant for earning Rs 50 lakh, which will be significant financial support for him and his family.
