Kejriwal assures uninterrupted school construction amid potential incarceration; criticises budget allocation
In response to the interim Union Budget unveiled by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament on February 1, Kejriwal noted that it allotted a mere four percent of the overall budget to schools and hospitals, contrasting sharply with the Delhi government’s expenditure of 40% on education and health.
Two schools will be established in Sector 41 of Rohini to benefit the children residing in the densely populated areas of Kirari village. The foundation stone laying ceremony was attended by Education Minister Atishi. In the past nine years, the government schools in Delhi have undergone a significant transformation due to the education revolution initiated by CM Kejriwal. Presently, the government schools in Delhi achieve outstanding results and have surpassed private schools in the city, according to an official statement.
The schools will be built on two separate plots and will comprise more than 100 classrooms. One of the schools will feature a fully air-conditioned multi-purpose hall with a seating capacity of 300, as mentioned in the statement. Additionally, the schools will be equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories, libraries, offices, staff rooms, activity rooms, toilet blocks on every floor and a lift, it added.
