The Story of Lord Shiva and Ek Mukhi Rudraksha
There is a mythological tale concerning Lord Shiva and the Ek Mukhi Rudraksha in Hinduism. According to the story, when Lord Shiva was meditating on the snowy hill of Kailash, his celestial consort, Parvati, while reflecting on her modest existence wondered why Goddess Lakshmi should only be linked with wealth, magnificence, and a glittering look. She asked Shiva to provide her with a lavish home that is unparalleled in beauty, richness, and majesty.

Lord Shiva fulfilled her desires right away and also gave Yaksharaja Kubera the order to construct the Shivnagari palace. This township was a work of art in terms of architecture and wealth. An overjoyed Parvati joined Shiva in moving into this new luxurious home. She was dressed in silk and accessorized with jewels.

She approached Lord Shiva, who was in his customary meditative condition with his eyes closed. The highest soul, Shiva, remained unaffected by his surroundings, be it in the mountains or in a lavish environment. This made Parvati realise that true happiness is because of his lovely body. She asked Lord Shiva for forgiveness and went back to Kailash and remained blissfully with Shiva the Eternal.
