Kriti Kharbanda Cooks Sooji Ka Halwa In Her ‘Pehli Rasoi’

After tying the knot with Pulkit Samrat last week in the presence of their families and close friends, Bollywood actress Kriti Kharbanda shared some precious moments from the post-wedding ceremonies which also includes her rasoi ritual, where a newlywed woman cooks for the first time.

On March 19, the Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana actress uploaded a few pictures of her making a classic Indian dish on the Instagram stories.

Pehli Rasoi is an Indian tradition where the daughter-in-law makes a sweet dish at her husband’s house for his whole family and Kriti decided to make ‘sooji ka halwa’ for this ritual at Pulkit’s house in Delhi.

In the first photo, she shared glimpse of her delicious halwa garnished with almonds which was kept on a kitchen counter. Kriti captioned it as “Meri pehli rasoi”. In the second story, there is a photo of her with Pulkit’s grandmother, who approved her dessert and in the last story, the newly married actress can be seen garnishing the halwa with slices of almonds and other dry fruits.

Sooji ka halwa, also known as rawa sheera is a popular Indian dessert made with semolina, ghee, sugar, nuts and milk. It’s a rich, sweet and creamy pudding that’s perfect for any occasion. However, if you are not aware, besides being an amazing actress, Kriti is also a great cook.

Whenever, the actress gets free time, she embraces her cooking skills and shares photos on her social media. While stuck at home during lockdown, she unleashed her culinary creativity, whipping up a variety of dishes that even impressed Pulkit Samrat. Her Instagram stories from that time are a delicious throwback, filled with lip-smacking photos of samosas, gluten-free sourdough bread, Amritsari fish, pani puri, and pav.
