Lok Sabha Elections: 6251 people voted on the first day of home voting, these got special facilities

In Rajasthan, home voting for Lok Sabha elections has started from Friday for senior voters above 85 years of age and voters with more than 40 per cent disability. It has been started in 12 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state. Voting for these seats will take place on April 19.

Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta informed in this regard that under the Lok Sabha General Elections-2024, 4619 elderly and 1632 disabled voters voted from home on Friday, the first day of home voting in the state. On the first day, 6251 elderly and disabled voters voted at home.

Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that forms of 36,558 eligible voters have been approved for the 12 Lok Sabha constituencies of the first phase. These include 27,443 senior citizens and 9,115 disabled people. Special polling teams are going to the homes of such voters and getting them to vote through postal ballot with complete secrecy.

The voting process for home voting in the first phase of Lok Sabha constituencies will run from April 5 to 13. If for any reason the voter is absent or deprived of home voting, the second phase will take place between April 15 and 16.
