‘Love You Dad’: Facebook Reacts To Zuckerberg’s Instagram Reel Celebrating FB’s 20th Birthday; Watch Video
To mark this occasion, Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg shared a short video and a message on Instagram to let viewers revisit some memories of Facebook.
In the reel, pictures and videos from the early journey of Facebook have been showcased in a snippet format. The images include Zuckerberg’s early profile picture, his photos of working on a desktop, and images with his wife Priscilla Chan and Sheryl Sandberg (a former member of Meta’s board).
“20 years ago I launched a thing. Along the way, lots of amazing people joined and we built some more awesome things. We’re still at it and the best is yet to come,” Zuckerberg posted.
Responding to the update, the Instagram account of Facebook commented: “Love you dad.” The Meta boss also posted his “now and then” photos with his computer for a comparison of the transition.
For context, Facebook witnessed massive growth in the first year of its launch, with users clocking one million. In 2012, the user base peaked at one billion per month. By the end of last year, the company reported it served 2.11 billion users daily users via Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg is currently the fifth richest person in the world because of the rise in Meta’s share price, reported IANS.
Zuckerberg’s Facebook was initially limited to University students before being open to the general public in 2006, according to Moneycontrol. Currently, Meta owns other popular apps such asĀ Facebook, Instagram, Threads and WhatsApp. The company moved to the updated naming scheme ‘Meta’ in 2021, citing efforts towards the platform’s ‘metaverse’ mission.
