Lunar Eclipse on Holi 2024: What pregnant women should avoid

Both Chandra Grahan (lunar eclipse) and Surya Grahan (solar eclipse) have special significance in Hinduism. This year, the first lunar eclipse of 2024 is set to occur on the day of Holi.

The lunar eclipse will not be visible in India, so the period of sutak will not be considered. This lunar eclipse is occurring due to the presence of Ketu. According to Vedic astrology, the moon will be in the Virgo sign during this eclipse. As a result, the conjunction of Ketu and the moon in Virgo can have an impact on all 12 zodiac signs in some way. The influence of a lunar eclipse lasts for about a month.

Astrologically, it is advised to avoid auspicious activities during a lunar eclipse. The environment during an eclipse is filled with negative energies. Therefore, pregnant women and their unborn children may suffer adverse effects. As a result, lunar eclipses require certain precautions.

Chandra Grahan 2024 Date and Time

According to the Hindu Panchang, the first lunar eclipse of 2024 will occur on March 25th, which is also the day of Falgun Purnima. The lunar eclipse will start at 10:24 AM and last until 3:01 PM on the same day, lasting for a total of 4 hours and 36 minutes. It is recommended to chant Vedic mantras continuously during this time.

Precautions for Pregnant Women During Chandra Grahan

During the lunar eclipse, pregnant women should stay indoors to protect their unborn children from its negative energies.
During the eclipse, avoid using sharp objects like knives or scissors.
The eclipse is not a good time to consume food. Fruits, juices, etc., can be consumed by pregnant women if needed.
