Maharashtra assembly polls: Congress’ Ideology Is In The DNA Of Maharashtra, Says Rahul Gandhi In Sangli
Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, said that the grand old party’s ideology is in the DNA of Maharashtra. The Congress leader attacked the BJP government, saying that the latter wants only a few to get all the benefits.
While addressing a public meeting in Sangli, The former Congress president said, “Congress’ ideology is in the DNA of Maharashtra. Earlier, there used to be politics, but today there is an ideological fight in India. We want social progress but they (BJP) want only a select few to get all the benefits.”
Rahul Gandhi reiterated that caste census will be done if his party is voted to power.
He said, “I have said on the Floor of Lok Sabha that Congress will get the caste census done. Our alliance will get it done.”
Earlier, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi unveiled the statue of Late Patangrao Kadam in Sangli.
Both leaders also visited late Nanded MP Vasanthrao Balwantrao Chavan reached Nanded and met the bereaved family of the late Congress MP Vasantrao Chavan at his residence.
Both the leaders offered their condolences to the family. Nanded MP Vasantrao Chavan passed away on the morning of August 26 in KIMS Hospital, Hyderabad.
The MP was airlifted to Hyderabad from Nanded and was diagnosed with multiple health issues, including Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy, a type of brain dysfunction that occurs when the brain experiences a decrease in oxygen or blood flow.
The hospital said that the MP was also diagnosed and also suffered cardiac arrest due to respiratory failure and end-stage renal disease. A multidisciplinary team of doctors provided comprehensive treatment to the MP and he was on ventilator support too.
