Mahindra Trademarks Four New Names For Upcoming Electric Vehicle Range; Details

Mahindra & Mahindra, one of India’s largest automobile manufacturers, has recently trademarked four new names – 1XO, 3XO, 5XO, and 7XO. These trademarks indicate that the manufacturer is gearing up to expand its electric vehicles lineup in India.

It is likely that Mahindra will launch one of its new EV models in December 2024. The company has already unveiled five electric vehicles under development, namely the XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09. Mahindra is expected to launch the XUV.e8 initially which is slated to debut in December 2024.

Mahindra’s Upcoming EVs High Altitude Testing

As we previously reported, Mahindra is conducting tests on three of its electric SUVs that are slated to be launched soon in the Indian market – the BE.05, XUV.e8 and XUV.e9. These three upcoming Mahindra electric vehicles were seen in Ladakh, indicating high-altitude testing being done by the company.

Mahindra’s Upcoming Electric Vehicles

Among Mahindra’s upcoming electric SUVs, the first to hit the market will be the Mahindra XUV.e8, an electric version of the popular XUV700. Post the launch of the Mahindra XUV.e8, the Mahindra XUV.e9 will be launched and will be positioned as the flagship electric SUV model from the brand, adopting a coupe SUV design. Additionally, the BE.05 is slated to be a coupe SUV under Mahindra’s new BE brand. These electric SUVs will be constructed on Mahindra’s new INGLO platform, known for its scalability to accommodate vehicles ranging from 4.3 meters to 5 meters in length. With wheels positioned at the corners and the battery pack integrated into the floorboard, this design ensures a flat floor, enhancing comfort for rear seat occupants.
