Maruti Suzuki Issues Recall for 16,000 Vehicles in India—What You Need to Know
Leading auto giant Maruti Suzuki has recalled over 16,000 units of its best-selling model in India. According to details shared by media, the decision has been taken due to a fault in the fuel pump motor. The company says it will recall 11,851 units of the Baleno and 4,190 units of the WagonR. The affected models are manufactured between July and November 2019 under the timeline.
Faulty fuel pump
While sharing the details, PTI also quoted the brand’s official statement, which said, “It is suspected that there is a possible fault in a part of the fuel pump motor, which is a rare case that can cause the engine to stall or the engine to start. Issue,”
Maruti Suzuki Sales
Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki has been witnessing good sales growth for the past few months. Last month (February) too, the company registered a 9 percent growth in domestic sales, retailing 1,68,544 units. This number is higher than the same month last year. When it comes to the export business, it skyrocketed by receiving 28,927 units with an increase of 68 percent. In February last year, this number was only 17,207 units.
