Maruti Suzuki Jimny Pulls Out Rs 92 Lakh Defender, Mahindra Scorpio Out Of Snow

Maruti Suzuki Jimny is well recognised for its capabilities off the tarmac. Built to explore new and tough terrain the car comes with a lightweight body and a 4×4 powertrain.

These qualities of the SUV have been demonstrated in multiple videos shared on the internet. Adding to the list is a video showing the budget SUV pulling the mammoth Land Rover Defender and a Mahindra Scorpio out of a snow-covered road. Shared on social media the video has been gaining the attention of enthusiasts.

The video shared on X shows the Maruti Suzuki Jimny pulling the massive Land Rover Defender out of the snow using a tow strap. Later on, the SUV helps a Mahindra Scorpio come out of the slippery surface covered in snow. It is to be noted that both the Land Rover Defender and Mahindra Scorpio are off-road capable SUVs. However, in this video, they are seen struggling in the snow while Jimny completely dominates in the condition making the act even more significant.

The SUV was probably able to perform the feat because of its light weight when compared to the other SUVs. To be specific, the Jimny weighs between 1195 kg to 1205 kg depending on the variant you choose. Meanwhile, the Land Rover Defender (starting price Rs 97 lakh ex-showroom) weighs around 2303 kg and Scorpio tips the scale at around 1885 kg. Because of this difference in weight Jimny slightly struggles to pull the SUVs on the slippery surface.

Presently, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny is being sold at a starting price of Rs 12.74 lakh (ex-showroom) which goes up to Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). It is to be noted that all of the variants of the SUV have a 4×4 powertrain as standard. In India, the SUV is sold in its five-door version and has a primary rival in the form of Mahindra Thar. Meanwhile, the SUV also has a three-door version sold in the international market.
