Maruti Suzuki Swift And Dzire Will Get Sunroof Reveals Latest Spy Pictures; Here’s What We Know
Maruti Suzuki, one of India’s largest automobile manufacturers is gearing up to launch the next-generation Swift and Dzire models.
Both the next-gen Swift and Dzire models have been recently spotted around Kufri and Narkanda, suggesting that they are undergoing high-altitude testing. High-altitude testing is done to ensure optimal performance in challenging weather conditions. Manufacturers often subject their vehicles to diverse conditions to ensure they function seamlessly under varying circumstances.
An intriguing addition noted is that the Dzire sedan was equipped with a sunroof, though its inclusion remains unconfirmed at this stage. The use of snow chains on the Dzire indicates preparation for slippery road conditions encountered during testing. Both the Swift and Dzire will undergo significant design revisions. The Dzire’s rear silhouette has been refined for a more seamless appearance, while the Swift adopts a sharper overall look.
Talking about the interior of both the models, it draws inspiration from the Baleno, featuring a dual-tone color scheme and a redesigned dashboard. Other notable additions that can be seen include the inclusion of a new touchscreen infotainment system, equipped with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and an automatic climate control system integrated below the AC vents. Furthermore, a new instrument cluster with analogue dials and a digital multi-information display will also be equipped.
Talking about the powertrain, both the models will be powered by the new Z12E three-cylinder petrol engine, a departure from the current four-cylinder K-series unit. While globally paired with a CVT automatic transmission, Indian variants will offer a 5-speed manual gearbox. Automatic variants may feature either a CVT unit or a 5-speed AMT. Despite a slight reduction in power output compared to the current Swift, with approximately 80 bhp and 108 Nm of torque, the new engine promises improved fuel efficiency, boasting a figure of around 24 kmpl.
