The festival of Shivratri is dedicated to Lord Shiva and monthly Shivaratri or Masik Shivratri is celebrated on the Chaturdashi date of Krishna Paksha of every month.

This time the Chaturdashi date of Krishna Paksha of Magh month is falling on 8th February. On the day of Masik Shivratri, Goddess Parvati is worshiped along with Lord Shiva. It is believed that fasting on Shivratri gives you auspicious results in various aspects of your life. Shivratri fast is observed by both married and unmarried women.

It is also believed that fasting during monthly Shivratri enhances one’s chances of getting married early. Apart from this, the life of married people is filled with abundance of happiness. Auspicious Time for worship
According to the daily calendar, the Chaturdashi tithi of Krishna Paksha will start on 8 February 2024 at 11:17 am and it will end the next day i.e. 9 February 2024 at 08:02 am. In such a situation, the monthly Shivratri fast in February will be observed on February 8, 2024. Nishita Muhurta for worshiping Lord Shiva will be from 12:09 AM to 01:01 AM on 8th February. On the other hand, on the day of monthly Shivratri, Brahma Muhurta for worship will be from 05.21 am to 06.13 am.

Masik Shivratri puja vidhi

On the day of Monthly Shivaratri, one should start their day by waking up early in the morning and meditating upon Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati.

After this one should take a bath, wear clean clothes and clean the temple or the place of worship.

After this one should perform Abhishekam of Lord Shiva ritually with milk and Ganga water. During this, one should chant the mantra ‘Om Namah: Shivay’.
