He was born in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, on April 29, 1993, and relocated to Mumbai with his family when he was just 5 years old. He began performing in plays and the theatre when a student at Mithibai College. The actor left his final CA examinations and began doing film auditions after taking first place in a well-known fresh face competition.
He had even aced the audition for Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva, which was being produced by Karan Johar and directed by Ayan Mukerji. However, he turned down the fantasy action adventure movie on his father’s advice. Additionally, he also refused the filmmaker’s Dharma Productions three-film deal. During an interview with The Lallantop, he revealed that faced severe criticism from casting professionals and was eventually blacklisted for rejecting the role.
“Mujhe blacklist kar diya gaya casting se. Blacklist kar diya ki ye toh pagal hai ladka. Badnaam ho gaya tha main casting circuit mein ki ye select ho ke na bol deta hai, ” he said in the same interview.
Siddhant added, “One month before Gully Boy, this (Brahmastra) happened. The makers of a very big film that eventually became the biggest film offered me a part. I had got it through a casting director. It was one of the characters, but it didn’t have any script or audition. They said that you do martial arts, it was an action fantasy film. Ek ashram hai, usme one of the superheroes’s ka kirdar mila tha mujhe. So they said I should do it, and it’s a VFX-heavy project, and it will take 5 years to make.”
Siddhant Chaturvedi eventually made his Bollywood debut in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, wowing both critics and viewers with his portrayal of rapper MC Sher. The movie, which starred Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, took in Rs 235 crore globally and Rs 140 crore in India.
The actor is currently basking on the success of Yudhra, which was directed by Ravi Udyawar. The action thriller hit the theatres on September 20. The movie marks the first-ever collaboration between Siddhant Chaturvedi and Malavika Mohanan. Raj Arjun, Ram Kapoor, and Raghav Juyal play important roles in it as well. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment, Yudhra opened to mixed reviews. According to reports, Siddhant Chaturvedi starrer was produced on a Rs 50 crore budget. By the conclusion of its first week at the box office, it will have made Rs 10 crore at this rate. It is challenging to determine its lifespan, though, because the audience isn’t really engaged.
