Many Bollywood actors never initially intended to join the glamour industry, but destiny had different plans, leading them to the world of cinema. One such actress who made her mark is Raashii Khanna. The talented actress made her film debut in 2013. Born on November 30, 1990, Raashii completed her education in Delhi. She graduated with BA honours English from Delhi University and was a standout student from a young age. She topped her 12th board exams and aspired to go into administrative sector.
Raashii Khanna once said that she never intended to join Bollywood. Speaking to HT City, the actress said, “I was good in studies. Initially I wanted to become a singer but in college I decided to go into administrative services. I wanted to prepare for IAS and become an officer but my luck took me to films. I never dreamt of becoming a model or an actress.”
During her college days, Raashii tried her hands at copywriting for advertisements. From here, she started getting modelling offers for various advertisements. Following this, Shoojit Sircar offered her film ‘Madras Cafe’ opposite John Abraham. The film was released on August 23, 2013.

Although, Raashii had a very short role in the film, but still it made an impact on audiences. The film was made in Rs 35 crore and did a business of around Rs 70 crore. The 33-year-old is also a well-known actress in South cinema. She made her debut in Oohalu Gusagusalade and has worked with renowned South stars like Dhanush, Naga Chaitanya, Vijay Sethupathi and more.
In 2024, Raashii Khanna was seen in Yodha opposite Siddharth Malhotra. It marked Khanna’s return to Hindi cinema after a decade, following her debut in the film industry with Madras Cafe. Also, her latest film, The Sabarmati Report alongside Vikrant Massey, is currently running in theatres.
