A Dubai-based Indian businessman is recently creating a buzz by becoming the first Indian to own a Rolls-Royce Cullinan. In a grand gesture to mark their wedding anniversary, this luxury car was gifted by the Aries Group’s chairman and CEO to his wife, Abhini Sohan. The elite Rolls-Royce Cullinan, which landed in India in 2018, carries a hefty price tag beginning at Rs 6.95 crore.
We are talking about the much talked about Indian businessman, Sohan Roy. Last year, Roy made headlines for his largesse, gifting his staff 30-crore worth goodies marking his firm’s silver jubilee. Beyond his entrepreneurial exploits, Sohan Roy is known for his proficiency as a marine engineer.
“I have always been an admirer of Rolls-Royce. I have been thinking of gifting something special to my wife Abhini Sohan on our 25th wedding anniversary and was searching for something unique. The Cullinan met my expectations and I booked it straight away,” Sohan Roy had then said to India Today in an earlier interview.

Sohan Roy’s career in direction
Sohan Roy started his career in the realm of marine engineering, later extending his expertise to marine surveying for diverse firms. Fast forward to 1998, Roy set up Aries Marine and Engineering Services, headquartered in Sharjah, UAE. Over the years, Roy’s professional canvas expanded beyond the marine world into movie direction and production.
Among Roy’s well-recognized works is the film DAM999, a piece of art so significant that its screenplay found a place in the evergreen collection of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Library.
