Microsoft to announce new AI-powered features for Windows 11 soon, confirms Surface and Windows event
Ever since ChatGPT entered our lives in November 2022, interest around AI has reached new heights. Tech giants are spending heavily on AI and are bringing AI-powered features to their devices.
Microsoft, which has invested billions of dollars in ChatGPT parent OpenAI, might unveil AI-powered features for Windows 11 soon. The tech giant just confirmed its New Era of Work event for March 21. During this digital event, it is expected that the company might unveil AI features for Windows, new Surface laptops, and more.
Microsoft confirms new event
Microsoft has officially confirmed its upcoming digital event, titled New Era of Work, scheduled for March 21 at 9 am PDT. Thus, as per Indian time, the event will happen on March 21, Friday, at 10:30 pm. The event promises significant announcements regarding new Windows 11 features, Microsoft Copilot developments, and updates on the Surface lineup. Microsoft announced the same via a special webpage titled Advancing the new era of work with Copilot.
“Tune in here for the latest in scaling AI in your environment with Copilot, Windows, and Surface,” the webpage reads further.
A Windows Central report earlier this week said that during the event, Microsoft will be launching the all-new Surface Pro and Surface Laptops.
Since then, anticipation has been building around the expected unveiling of new Surface Pro and Surface laptops, touted as major advancements in performance and efficiency. These devices are likely to be powered by Intel Core Ultra and Snapdragon X Elite-based processors, leading Microsoft to brand them as innovative AI PCs.
The release timeline indicates an April launch for the Intel hardware, followed by the Arm hardware in June.
The introduction of Arm technology to the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 marks a notable expansion, with details on Arm devices potentially reserved for a later announcement closer to June. As per report, a specialised commercial variant of the Surface Laptop featuring a built-in CAC reader might also be unveiled during the event.
