The government’s press agency Press Information Bureau (PIB) has clarified the truth behind this viral message. PIB has termed this claim as fake and advised not to share such material. The agency said that NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) has not issued any direction mandating Aadhaar-based transactions to keep the account active.
