Na Mereko Farak Padta Hai’: Hardik Pandya’s Straightforward Response Silences Social Media Speculation
With the onset of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, all eyes will soon be on Hardik Pandya as he takes the helm of the Mumbai Indians, succeeding Rohit Sharma as captain.
Pandya has been absent from international cricket for India since sustaining an ankle injury during their ICC Cricket World Cup group stage encounter against Bangladesh in October last year. Consequently, he was sidelined for the five-match T20I series against Australia at home as well as the tour to South Africa.
In preparation for the upcoming IPL season, Pandya was traded to the Mumbai Indians from the Gujarat Titans last November, stepping into the role previously held by their five-time IPL trophy-winning captain, Rohit Sharma.
As the IPL draws near, Hardik Pandya has shared insights into various lesser-known aspects of his life.
‘One thing my fans don’t know about me is that I don’t go out. I am a home boy. I have hardly been out in the last three to four years; the only occasions I have stepped out is when it has been unavoidable, something happened with my friends. I like to stay at home. There was this time when I did not step out of home for 50 days. I did not even see the home lift,’ he said on a chat show with the UK 07 Rider ‘I have my home gym, home theatre. The things that I like are in my home.’
When questioned about a viral photo of him in a supercar, Hardik Pandya disclosed that someone had lent him the car for a test drive.
‘Main kabhi media mein comment karta nahi hu, to maine kabhi kia nahi, na mereko fadak padta hai (I don’t comment in media, I have never done it, it does not bother me),’ Hardik Pandya said.
