NEET MDS 2024 Postponement Matter in Supreme Court

Candidates pursuing a Master of Dental Surgery degree took their plea to the highest court, challenging the government’s decision not to reschedule the NEET MDS exam date for 2024.

These candidates, along with student unions, have been actively engaging in social media campaigns and have also written letters to the authorities, urging them to move the NEET MDS 2024 exam to July.

In response, the aspirants turned to the Supreme Court for intervention. However, instead of making a decision on the postponement, the Court directed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to decide on the matter within a week.

Despite the Court’s instruction, the ministry has remained silent on the issue of postponing the NEET MDS exam.

Previously, on February 21, a bench of the Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and including Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, heard the plea for postponement of the NEET MDS 2024 exam.

Meanwhile, on March 8, the National Board of Examinations extended the internship deadline until June 30, responding to numerous requests from students whose internships were delayed beyond the original deadline of March 31.

Consequently, the registration process for NEET MDS will reopen for candidates completing their internships between April 1 and June 30.
