The students called off their protest for the day after staging a sit-in and reiterated their demands, including a ban on the NTA and the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The students also demanded a re-examination of the NEET-UG for all and the restoration of the old university-specific entrance exam system. Members of the Left-affiliated AISA and Delhi University’s KYS were among the other student organizations that took part in the protest. On the sixth day of the strike, the students gathered at Jantar Mantar and raised “anti-NTA” slogans, demanding Pradhan’s resignation.

The UGC NET will be held afresh from August 21 to September 4. The Joint CSIR-UGC NET will be held between July 25-27, while the NCET will be held on July 10.
